Out in my vegie patch today

Post  Lucky1 on Sun Apr 13, 2008 12:30 pm

I've been a very busy vegimite today, spent the morning out in my vegie garden.

The biggest challenge was the bird netting and that had me in tears....... ended up using 2 nettings and criss crossed them over the area to keep the garlic, lettuce, rocket, spring onions & spinach safe from those poxy birds.

I need more netting as I am going to cover the green manure until its big enough to take care of itself.

Anyway pics and my lurvly fat garlic can be found here......

Hey Lucky
You have been busy... bounce

Have you tried net curtains against birds...when put over brassicas they keep out cabbage moths and aphids too depending on how small the holes in them are.

I don't get in such a tangle with it either although some of it is getting a bit old now so I have to watch I don't tear it.

I bought mine from the op shop and snagged a couple of garbage bags full ($2ea) at a garage sale. flower
