A Proud Little Girl

Post  Blossom on Sat Apr 26, 2008 3:03 pm

Carmen spent the weekend here without her little sister, so I decided to introduce her to the sewing machine. Well, I was gobsmacked - she has patched, quilted and constructed this bag with no more than guidance from me, I didn't do a single stitch. The bag is fully lined with a mobile phone pocket inside. A natural! She is so proud of herself and has decided to 'go into business' making bags!

Cool, I'm sure there would be a market for them queen

Wow! This is a beautiful bag. Carmen looks very proud and happy, and so she can rightly be.

What a smart girl, and so nice to see a youngster having a go at making her own stuff. My neice is 15 and a keen sewer (is that correct - looks like sewer - yuck) OK - stitcher. I gave her my old brother machine as her M&D couldn't afford one and I wasn't going to get much as a trade. Had it serviced and all. Next time I saw her, she proudly told me she had mended her school dress.
Cheers, Jan

I'm the world's worst sewer so I'm impressed. Threw out my 20 year old sewing machine when I moved her and can't see myself buying another. Mind you I have sewn curtains, lounge covers, kids clothes in my time but I hated every minute.

Carmen - you'll make a mint out of people like me and good on you Smile
